LA – ICONS & OTHERS IMPRESSIONS
Check out photographs by 10 artists which are most symbolic of the city of Los Angeles. Some are its buildings familiar to most of us, some are its beach areas and piers, some are museums and other public places, some are murals and street art, but they all are uniquely “L. A.”, and could be considered as the city’s icons. Since each of the photographers in the project group has their own individual approach to their art, the exhibited images show a wide diversity of techniques and represent a composite view.
Opening Reception: 6-8pm
Exhibit runs through Sunday, April 15
The Annenberg Beach House
415 Pacific Coast Hwy
Santa Monica

NOHO FARMER’S MARKET
The NoHo Arts District Farmers Market is a festive, family-friendly, open-air marketplace committed to bringing fresh, locally-grown food to the surrounding neighborhood. Enjoy a variety of fruits and vegetables from California farmers, as well as other foods including breads, nuts, ethnic foods, cheeses, fruit juices, and cookies. You’ll also find clothing, crafts, and children’s activities, plus much more. Conveniently located just steps away from the North Hollywood Metro stop on the Red Line. This open-air street market has approximately 20 farmers, 20 local artisans, and 30 vendors who provide baked goods and prepared foods. I find my favorite organic apples and organic dinosaur kale weekly… Also, enjoy lots of samples. There are great deals to be made with farmers who come from as far as Sacramento.

PACIFIC STANDARD TIME’S 11-DAY PERFORMANCE & PUBLIC ART FESTIVAL
This 11-Day festival celebrates LA’s role, past and present, as an epicenter of performance and public art. This 11-day celebration will feature more than 30 extraordinary performances–including contemporary re-enactments of iconic works by artists such as Judy Chicago, Suzanne Lacy, Robert Wilhite and James Turrell–and interventions both large and small in the public sphere. Organized by the Getty Research Institute and LA ART, and supported by grants from the Getty Foundation in conjunction with the ongoing Pacific Standard Time: Art in L.A. 1945-1980 initiative, the Performance and Public Art Festival will reexamine, reinvent, reinterpret and renew an epochal movement in contemporary art for which Los Angeles has been an epicenter. RESTAURANT.COM GIFT CERTIFICATES
Every few days this unique site does an amazing sale. Here’s how their site benefits over 5 million customers: find the restaurant you want to eat at and gift certificates of multiple denominations. Normally a $25 gift certificate that requires a minimum $35 purchase (+ 18% gratuity on the total bill) for 2 people sells for $10. Well, if they’re having an 80% off sale that voucher comes out to only $2! Spend $2 and get $25 off of your $35 check. This is totally legitimate and restaurants are usually quite appreciative for the new business.
